The weekend flew by, sorta like this past summer! Back to school for some and others, back to work. I am beginning to try and get some of my long list of "To do's" done. Sewing projects that if not done, will no longer be needed or fit!
I was able to get a baby quilt done and a little dress for grand daughter Kate's October birthday! They both turned out pretty cute. Next I will be working on a smocked dress for grand daughter Gracie, then another quilt for son in law. As usual, I have more projects on my list than hours, but if I keep plugging away, they will get done!
Hope you are enjoying the last days of summer. Check out the pictures of quilts, I posted my newest one. Happy sewing!

Just finished this cute purse using the new flavor "Bluebird Berry Ice". I loved the look of the fabric, just had to try to create something fun and easy. I added a bit of sparkle to the corners. You can see more pictures of projects under the Photo Gallery. Feel free to share your creations as well!

I am not sure I can remember a summer in Oregon this hot, this long! Normally, when it rains about this time of year that is it. We are now on round 2 of hot, hot, hot!
I keep looking at all the projects that are just waiting for my attention, so I really am anxious to not have to water and deadhead roses everyday! Don't get me wrong, I love my roses, but I want to sew! I have baby gifts, quilts and Christmas presents on the list (I always "think" more than I can actually "do"). I have new fabric scheduled to come soon. Fun! Gotta go walk the dog. Stay cool. Enjoy the end of summer and try and get some sewing in!

I love the different seasons! Spring brings hope and joy. Summer brings rest and peace. Fall brings cozy settling in and Winter brings sheer survival mode! For years I have been challenged by the holidays and the craziness it brings. I have always enjoyed being creative and making gifts....I imagine that is part of my problem. You would think that I would have figured it out by now. No. On my list this year is a quilt for son in law and a matching apron set for my grand daughter and daughter in law. I have a new grand baby coming in December as well (if all goes well). Better get going. I will post my creations as they get done. Would love to hear what you are working on.

I was thinking about all of the fun times we had when my friends Bev and Debbie were teaching quilting classes. It was exciting to teach new quilters all about quilting. As you bond with your group, it is amazing how many things "stick" as far as people's preferences for color and style go. One new quilter was gravitating toward "Yellow". Now, everytime I see that color yellow, the term for me is "Connie Yellow". I am also reminded of the time we had been working weeks on a "Jazzy Jacket", the one that has lots of different fun applications. When it came down to cutting the pattern out, I noticed that one member had the scissors in hand and was "going for" the fabric with way too much vigor. I was horrified....all I could do is shout "Don't touch it!". It is funny, that to this day, if we want to make each other laugh, all we need to say is "Don't touch it!". Fond, fond memories. Do you have some memories that you'd like to share? It would be fun to read about them.
Have a great day and happy sewing!

Just got the catelogs of the new lines of fabrics by Moda. Wow! Hard to decide which ones to pick to create a new "Flavor". Let me know if any one has ideas of areas of interest you might like to see. I will be posting new flavors soon. Be sure and come out to the Coburg Quilt show July 25th!
